Janet Gonter, Volunteer of the Year, began her "career" many years ago with Citrus Memorial as an employee. She has been a volunteer since 2004 and has already given 4100 hours.

Ms Gonter was honored by her fellow volunteers because she is always willing to help, comes in on short notice when someone is absent, is a friendly face to all of our patients – always smiling, goes above and beyond – walking patients to their destination, takes extra time for each patient, is dedicated to the hospital, and make certain that problems are solved.

Employees in the Medical Office Building where she volunteers and serves a Chairperson said, "She is our "mother" that keeps things going."
