Text Box: Citrus Memorial Health System Our new name reflects all we are today In 1957, our community's first hospital was founded and for nearly 50 years has operated as Citrus Memorial Hospital. Over the years, we grew and added services to meet the needs of a growing -- and aging -- community. While we moved toward offering what some have called "big city medicine", we have always retained our hometown values of caring, compassion and respect, retaining "high touch" while providing "high tech". Now, we're changing our name to reflect all that we have become. Our facility is truly more than a hospital. The name Citrus Memorial Health System reflects our full-service orientation that includes, in addition to excellence in traditional hospital services and such advanced services as the heart and orthopedic centers, our primary and specialty physicians, outpatient and freestanding laboratory and diagnostic imaging services, a walk-in clinic, a home health agency, community education and disease prevention programs, support groups and special outreach programs. At the beginning of this year we surveyed community members about what you wanted your hospital to be. You told us you want us to retain our personal touch and neighborly values, but you also want to know that you can bring your health concerns to Citrus Memorial and not have to leave the county. We strive every day to meet and exceed those expectations. Our Mission, Vision and Values The Citrus Memorial Health System is starting 2006 with a new name and an updated statement of our mission, vision and values. They were formulated to benefit all our stakeholders, what we call our community of caregivers, that includes not just physicians, staff and volunteers, but also patients, families and community members.
