Our ER is Expanding!

Citrus Memorial Health System has begun construction on its new emergency room expansion project. Community members should note that during construction the emergency room entrance has been temporarily moved. Patients and visitors are asked to use the main entrance to the hospital to access the emergency room until construction is complete. The phasing of this construction project will allow the emergency room to remain open to serve the needs of patients during this 14-month process. The expanded center should open in December 2010.

The expansion plan includes a new 7,000 square foot addition to the emergency room and the renovation of 5,000 square feet in the existing area to enhance privacy for our patients and their families.

The new emergency room, once completed, will offer 11 additional rooms for patients. Also included are a more patient friendly reception area and additional space for equipment storage and staffing needs.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Monday, October 26th at 4:30pm.
