Members of the Citrus Memorial Hospital ER staff partnered with Citrus County Fire Rescue and Nature Coast EMS to sell t-shirts and raise funds throughout the month of October in support of breast cancer patients in Citrus County.
More than 100 Citrus Memorial Hospital employees showed their support of women with breast cancer by purchasing and wearing pink and black t-shirts to work on Monday, October 31. These special shirts were created and sold by the Citrus County Firefighters and Nature Coast EMS as a fundraiser to help women affected by breast cancer and their families. CMH staff raised more than $800.
“Our patients love seeing us in these shirts,” said Emergency Room nurse, Jennifer Losse. “They share their stories with us and it makes them feel important. Breast cancer has affected all of us.”
This is the second year Citrus Memorial Hospital has supported the cause and designated a day for employees to show their support by wearing Breast Cancer Awareness shirts.
