Citrus Memorial Hospitalis offering a free sepsis seminar on Tuesday, August 7 at 11:30am at the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA in Lecanto.
“Sepsis Awareness, Prevention and Management” will feature a presentation from Citrus Memorial Hospital's Sepsis Coordinator, Carmel Worrell, RN, CCRN. The seminar will teach community members about sepsis risks, how to identify signs and symptoms of sepsis, management and prevention.
Sepsis is the body's extreme response to an infection. It is life-threatening and without timely treatment, sepsis can rapidly cause tissue damage, organ failure and death. It can happen when an infection you already have triggers a chain reaction throughout your body.
