Citrus Memorial Hospital recently announced the appointment of Lizette Otero, RN, BSN, MBA as its Assistant Chief Nursing Officer.
Otero has 23 years of nursing experience including positions as a registered nurse on a multitude of units including Intensive Care, Emergency Room, Progressive Care and Medical-Surgical as well as Charge Nurse. She served most recently as a Nursing Director of multiple units for Medical Center of Trinity where she focused on providing safe, efficient, quality patient care.
Otero earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Saint Leo University. She is certified in both Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Otero has been honored for her charitable work.
In 2017 she was recognized with a Frist Humanitarian Award for her work as a board member and volunteer with Women Orthopaedist Global Outreach - a charity that provides women in developing countries with free orthopedic surgery to eliminate debilitating arthritis and restore disabled joints so they can reclaim the ability to care for themselves, their families and communities.
